Now, you’ve probably already seen this, but, remember when Joss Whedon made a HILARIOUS anti-Romney video 4 years ago? Well, the geek-king maestro is at it again, and this time he’s enlisted a few of his friends…
…this time, this election, Whedon has launched, Save the Day, a Super PAC focused on encouraging Americans to get out and vote on election day. And I couldn’t be more excited about the endeavor, ESPECIALLY with Whedon’s wit and humor at the helm.
The organization’s mission, well, from the site, it states:
WE ARE A SHORT-FORM DIGITAL PRODUCTION COMPANY DEDICATED TO THE IDEA THAT VOTING IS A NECESSARY AND HEROIC ACT. THAT EVERY VOICE IN THIS WONDERFULLY DIVERSE NATION SHOULD, AND MUST, BE HEARD. THAT THE ONLY THING THAT CAN SAVE DEMOCRACY IS THE ACT THAT DEFINES IT. WE ARE COMMITTED TO FIGHTING THE APATHY, CYNICISM, AND HONEST CONFUSION THAT KEEPS CITIZENS FROM USING THEIR VOTE. AND TO REMINDING AN INCREASINGLY OUT-OF-TOUCH AND COMPROMISED SET OF REPRESENTATIVES THAT THEY ARE ANSWERABLE TO THE PEOPLE THEY WERE HIRED TO SERVE.
Now though the video doesn’t call out any candidate by name, it’s pretty clear who they’re rooting for. And on a personal note, I couldn’t agree more.
But wherever you’re beliefs are in the political spectrum, PLEASE vote on November 8th! The stakes could not be higher. And even if they weren’t, voting is stupid important, so why wouldn’t you do it anyway?
