Without a doubt excited for Science SARU’s (DAN DA DAN) adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s GHOST IN THE SHELL. I mean, there’s been quite a few adaptations of the manga, but what has me excited about this latest outing is the animation. Science SARU has definitely become one of my favorite anime studios of late. Without a doubt, they are producing some of the best and exciting hand drawn animation in the industry.
To build on that, the teaser that’s been released shows a faithful tribute to the original manga, specifically the artwork stylings of Masamune Shirow. I mean, it really looks like they designed the model sheets around his work, and not simply be inspired by it.
This new series will reportedly be a faithful adaption to the manga that ran from 1989 – 1991.
As for when it’ll hit? Looks like it’ll be hitting this July, streaming exclusively on Prime Video, with new episodes hitting every Tuesday once it premieres.
Sadly, currently no specific date in July has been announced at this time.
