HOLY COW! The full trailer for DUNE: PART TWO IS HERE! And it looks SO GOOD!
If you haven’t already seen it, get ready to have your mind blown below.
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for this. Before PART ONE, everyone talked about how DUNE was an unfilmable novel. I mean, David Lynch’s DUNE, saw it as a kid. Visually memorable, but a rewatch as an adult, that thing made no sense. Then of course there were SYFY’s (then “Sci-Fi”) channel’s adaptations. Though better than Lynch’s vision, and introducing me to James McAvoy… or maybe one of the introductions… I want to say CHILDREN OF DUNE hit when I was working at Blockbuster… there were a few of his early movies in those employee rentals, haha. BUT, though better than Lynch’s vision, still not great.
Then it was announced that Denis Villeneuve would be helming this adaptation of DUNE and I couldn’t have been more excited. I had become a big fan of his in the last 10 years, and with his storytelling and visual style in ARRIVAL and BLADE RUNNER 2049, I felt like this adaptation was in beautiful hands. And DUNE certainly was when PART ONE was released.
And to be treated to this second half, oh a feast for the eyes, and most certainly can’t wait.
