So, word on the street is that the upcoming 4th season of THE MANDALORIAN is being considered as a movie rather than a TV season.
If memory serves from the plethora of faraway galaxy announcements from Celebration, the plan was 2 more seasons of THE MANDALORIAN, then a movie to wrap everything up. But rumor has it, with the Writer and Actor strikes happening right now, the Mouse house is not confident in producing 2 additional seasons, let alone a movie any time soon… which is confusing, since a movie wouldn’t happen any time soon either with the strikes ongoing.
Nonetheless, that’s the rumor for the moment.
Not only that, but it’s also theorized this would release after the movie featuring the return of Rey, and her efforts to rebuild the Jedi Order.
But there is no confirmation from Lucasfilm or Disney, so take this with a huge grain of salt. But personally, as lackluster as the third season of THE MANDALORIAN was, regardless of the motivation for the rumored movie, might be time to end things on that end.
