How you guys without many, if any, new movies this year? Lord knows it’s been rough over on this end of the interwebs. But thankfully things are looking up with Warner Bros. announcing WONDER WOMAN 1984‘s release, and now looks like Netflix has got your back with a sci-fi movie, THE MIDNIGHT SKY.
This post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine (George Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home to Earth, where a mysterious global catastrophe has taken place. Clooney directs the adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s acclaimed novel Good Morning, Midnight, co-starring David Oyelowo, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir and Tiffany Boone. Coming to Netflix December 23rd.
While classified as “sci-fi”, definitely less BLADE RUNNER and more THE MARTIAN, and totally cool with that. This trailer, much like the overall experience in THE MARTIAN, just a heavy feeling of survival and that overall human condition, and I am ready.
