Is it just me, or have disaster movies gotten a lot better over the years? I mean, A LOT better? Like, so much so Roland Emerrech would be a jealous little camper, curled up in a corner? With all that said, I CANNOT WAIT for PROJECT HAIL MARY!
Obviously haven’t seen the movie. But based on the trailers alone, feels like it’s a bit reductive to call it disaster movie, because IT LOOKS SO GOOD! I mean, it doesn’t hurt that Ryan Gosling is charming as fuck. And the movie is based on a novel of the same name, by author, Andy Weir, who also wrote THE MARTIAN, which was also adapted into such a fantastic movie.
But I’m starting to ramble. We got a second trailer for this movie. Check it out below.
Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.
And if you missed the first trailer release…
Honestly this movie looks like such an emotional and fun ride. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
PROJECT HAIL MARY is set to hit theatres in March next year.
