Ever since DISTRICT-9, I’ve been a big fan of Neill Blomkamp, even his not so well received, ELYSIUM. Just the worlds he creates feel so layered, and his films are so character-driven. At least for me anyway. But when I first heart about CHAPPIE, I was so intrigued and excited to see how this film would shape up. Though a similar look to his previous films, initial details made it sound like the director’s version of ANNIE, and again, that had me hooked.
And now Sony Pictures has released the first poster and trailer for the film, check them both out after the jump.
Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy. Like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings – some good, some bad – and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man. But there’s one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot.
CHAPPIE set for release starting on March 6th, 2015 next year.
