I don’t think it’s any secret that the MCU has been a little hit & miss the past few years. Whether you want to attribute it to a lack of direction, oversaturation, or something else entirely, the cinematic universe hasn’t been consistent in its entertainment for a while now.
I remember Kevin Feige saying once that WAKANDA FORVER would end Phase 4, and by the end of the movie, fans will know where the MCU is heading… sure, we know now that Marvel Studios has long been into the multiverse, but by the end of WAKANDA, no idea where the MCU was going.
Why all this backstory? Well, clearly, THUNDERBOLTS*. Never read the comic books. Know of them, its premise, but never read them. But definitely intrigued when Marvel Studios announced it as a title for release in theatres. And definitely have gotten more curious with the addition of the asterisk…
But when the first trailer hit, I was all in. It, without a doubt, had all the characteristics of the Marvel movies I’ve enjoyed through the years. Essentially that right balance of action, comedy, satire, character, and teasing a bigger world or story.
Now when the ‘expanded’ trailer hit, I am definitely more excited than ever.
If you haven’t already, check out the latest trailer below.
