SQUID GAME. You know it, you potentially love it, and it’s been named Netflix’s most watched show in its history. Since its premiere, people have been wondering if the show will get a season 2. It ended in a fashion to where another season could definitely continue the story. And there’s definitely been the viewership that goes above and beyond Netflix’s benchmarks to merit another season.
But will another season happen?
SQUID GAME creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, had talked about that he has ideas about another season, but weren’t well developed. Additionally, he talked about whether or not another season happens, he wanted to take some time off. If you hadn’t heard, he lost 6 teeth during season 1 production.
As for a season 2? I have great news friends, A SEASON 2 IS HAPPENING!
Variety reported that Hwang confirmed to AP at a SQUID GAME screening in LA that a season 2 is coming.
There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice! But I will say there will indeed be a second season. It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently.

It should be noted that Netflix has yet to make an official announcement about a season 2. But word from the creator sounds like a good sign to me. Additionally, Hwang did mention that it’s too early to give any details, but did say series star, Lee Jung-jae would return.
