I have to say, I was late to the game firing up season 1 of STAR TREK: PICARD and having grown up with STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, it DEFINITELY PAINED me that the case. If you’re curious, being self-employed, signing up for another streaming service for one show… couldn’t do it. But with Paramount+ getting more and more engaging exclusive content, like EVIL having come back… might have to see if I can squeeze some money somewhere. Haha.
But I’m getting off-track. LOVED getting back into the TNG world with PICARD, and you can only imagine my glee that as soon as I finished the season, season 2 was announced! And with that, the first trailer! Check it out below!
Now I have to say, as much as I’m excited for a season 2, and Q! QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ!!! I mean, who doesn’t love a little John de Lancie? Kinda bummed that the trailer is setting up a season of time travel. I’m sure any STAR TREK fan would agree, time travel seems like the old stand-by for the franchise. But “old stand-by” aside, always thought STAR TREK does time travel well. So I guess I can’t complain too much.
But that said, in this case, where they’re going to present day Earth, not sure. I mean, I know through the life of the franchise there has been time travel on Earth, but always to someplace in our future, or the past, I really can’t think of a moment where it was present day. Not to say there hasn’t been a moment, just can’t think of it, and don’t know how I feel about it happening here.
But I will definitely tune in to see where it goes.
