These days it’s almost impossible not to talk about J.K. Rowling’s anti-trans comments when talking about HARRY POTTER. But before those views came to light, it’s undeniable what the original books and movies did for the fans that have enjoyed them and grew up with them. Myself included. And that’s an experience that I won’t let be tarnished.
So with that in mind, you better believe I was STOKED to discover that LEGO is released a massive set of Diagon Alley! And it does look GLORIOUS! I mean, not only have the books and movies had an impact, but a love of LEGO has been in my life since I was kid. Put them together, GLORIOUS!
Now, I know you’re probably thinking what’s the big deal? There are plenty of POTTER sets out there. Well, this one is a 5544 pieces. That’s up there with the massive Millenium Falcon set. So it’s definitely nice to see STAR WARS isn’t the only one getting the massive set love.
But if you wanted to know a little more, here’s the breakdown from the LEGO site:
Tap a brick in the wall behind the Leaky Cauldron pub and enter the world of Diagon Alley™, where wizards and witches find their potions and Hogwarts students stock up on school supplies like cauldrons, broomsticks and of course, wands. Measuring over a meter wide, this epic model is filled with authentic movie details and a menagerie of 14 minifigures, including four exclusive new characters!
Fans of Harry Potter™ will love discovering the magnificent window displays and intriguing interiors of Diagon Alley™, London’s most magical secret shopping street. This remarkable set captures incredible detail from many of the Harry Potter™ films and can be built four different ways, including closed into a real alley for role-playing stories filled with intrigue and mystery. It’s also compatible with the LEGO® Modular Buildings series, for even more world-building fun.
A crap ton of mini-figs, the modular aspect, and the fact it’s compatible with other sets in the Modular Building Series. I don’t know, if you’re of HARRY POTTER and LEGOS, this just seems like a lot of fun.
But check out the gallery below:
But over 5000 pieces, 40″ long, this thing won’t come cheap. Looks like this Diagon Alley set will run you $399.
