So unbeknownst to me, a big screen adaption of the beloved PS2 game has been in development since 2009 at Sony Pictures. But sounds like it finally has a director in Andrés Muschietti (Mama), and I couldn’t be more excited.
If you’re not familiar with the game, it focuses on a young boy, Wander, who travels into a forbidden land to battle 16 different colossus in order to save life of a young girl, Mono.
Now I know movies based on video games typically blow, and blow hard. But this game was filled with such fantasy and emotion, it seems like such a natural fit to be translated to the big screen, and I can’t wait!
