Gotta admit, had NO IDEA what “DOTA” was, but if you’re curious, stands for Defense of the Ancients, a series of strategy video games by Valve. Personally, not too big into strategy games, but you dangle some “anime” in front of me, and I’ll pop up like a meerkat pretty quick! Haha.
So where am I going with all of this? Well, a anime series inspired by DOTA is coming to Netflix, and titled, DOTA: DRAGON’S BLOOD. Check out the teaser below!
A conflicted yet courageous Dragon Knight must use the power of the dragon within to stop a deadly demon in this epic fantasy based on the online game.
This series has been referred to as anime, but it’s an American animation with clear inspiration from anime in it’s design. I know that’s splitting hairs here. But “anime” is Japanese for “animation”, and something that’s long since been used to create that subculture for anime fans WAY BACK in the day when we’d go to Suncoast for releases before DVD was even a thing…
…but I digress. Haha.
But like I said, I not familiar with the source for this. But, again, love me some anime, and love me some fantasy, and the teaser definitely looks awesome to sure!
If you’re a fan of animation? This series was created by Ashley Miller, and made in association with Netflix and Valve. The animation was done by Studio Mir, who did THE LEGEND OF KORRA and VOLTRON: LEGENDARY DEFENDER to name a few.
