SYFY Wire recently shared the first trailer for Paramount’s LOVE AND MONSTERS, and holy geez, it’s the mash-up I didn’t know I needed right now. Haha.
The thing looks to be part post-apocalypse, part rom-com, and part monster movie. Check out the trailer below.
Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson (Dylan O’Brien), along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over radio with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick), who is now 80 miles away at a coastal colony, Joel begins to fall for her again. As Joel realizes that there’s nothing left for him underground, he decides against all logic to venture out to Aimee, despite all the dangerous monsters that stand in his way. The fun-filled and action-packed adventure also stars Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt.
I mean, boy meets girl, monsters attack, boy get separated from girl, boy hears from girl, boy goes out into the monster world to find girl, and long the way meets Mary Poppins. What more do you need to know? Haha.
But joking aside, this definitely looks like the kind of nonsensical fun we all could use right now.
The best part all of this? I know, like pretty much all industries, entertainment is hurting right now. And with entertainment comes the delicate relationship between studios and theatres, shown to be more delicate in recent months. But there’s definitely a point as a consumer we just want the movies, and if streaming is a viable option, definitely the preference than to head into a theatre these days.
Well, Paramount has shifted its release plans for this movie from theatrical to PVOD, and will release on October 16th. And honestly, kinda stoked about that.
But what did you think of the trailer? What do you think about the PVOD release plans? Drop your thoughts on the Fuzzbug Facebook Page here.
