That’s right kids, STAR TREK 4 in the Kelvinverse is back on! If you were anything like me, you were definitely heartbroken when it was reported earlier this year that the next chapter would be shelved indefinitely. Supposedly due to contract negotiation breakdowns with stars Chris Pine (Kirk) and Chris Hemsworth (Kirk’s Dad). But just like a geektastic gift for the holidays, it’s looking like the next chapter is back on track!
Gizmodo, by way of Deadline, is reporting that Noah Hawley (FX’s LEGION & FARGO) is in “final talks” to write and direct the next chapter. J.J. Abrams will be back to produce, and one can only assume the cast will return. Though the story that would’ve brought back Kirk’s dad, well sounds like that bit is dead and done. So sorry if you were hoping for Thor in the sequel.
Honestly I couldn’t be more excited for this. Been a STAR TREK fan since since the TOS movies, and it pretty much became a lifelong love since Farpoint Station, so to know it’s not gonna end… LOVE IT!
