HEY YES! Composer, instrumentalist, and all-around BAD ASS musician, Yoko Kanno is going to score Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of COWBOY BEBOP. Those of you who don’t know, Kano and her band, SEATBELTS, provided the awesome, jazz-infused jams to the beloved anime.
The news is coming from io9, from Netflix’s tweet during the streamer’s recent Geeked Week. But I won’t lie, feel like a bit of a failed otaku here. Came across BEBOP back when VHS was a thing, and Suncoast was the place you went to for your anime. But when the live-action BEBOP was announced, didn’t even occur to me to think about the music. I know, I should turn in my otaku card! Haha.
But even still, I couldn’t be more excited about this news! And despite my oversight, definitely would be pissed if Kanno wasn’t invited to participate in BEBOP’s adaptation.
