Okay, looks like we got a trailer that actually gives us some insight to the movie! If you remember, the initial teaser that came out not too long ago was basically b-roll of Chris Pratt walking around urban areas with a gun. If you told me it was some kind of real-world combat movie, I would’ve bought it. Not a sci-fi movie.
BUT the new trailer? Definitely got some plot insight, and definitely getting more into the idea of this one. Check it out below!
In The TOMORROW WAR, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.
Still got some questions about this world. Like how does the draft work here? How are applicants chosen? I can only assume it would be something similar to history, but feels like it might need to be a little different here. But one thing I did find funny in all this? When Chris Pratt gets his gauntlet, ALL I could think about was the anime, GOD EATER, on Netflix. Otaku, I know you feel me on that one. Haha.
THE TOMORROW WAR is set to debut on July 2nd on Amazon Prime and is directed by Chris McKay, written by Zach Dean, and stars: Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Keith Powers.
