{"id":757,"date":"2015-08-21T18:19:56","date_gmt":"2015-08-21T18:19:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fuzzybug.net\/?p=757"},"modified":"2016-02-13T20:36:32","modified_gmt":"2016-02-13T20:36:32","slug":"star-wars-rogue-one-cast-photo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fuzzybug.net\/?p=757","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Star Wars: Rogue One&#8217; Cast Photo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Disney president Alan Horn announced today that the first <em>Star Wars<\/em> spinoff, titled <em>Rogue One <\/em>(and from the new logo above, it seems to now be called <em>Rogue One: A Star Wars Story<\/em>), started filming last week under the direction of Gareth Edwards (<em>Godzilla<\/em>), who delivered a brief video greeting from the set before a photo of the principal cast was flashed on the screens at the D23 Expo:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fuzzybug.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Star-Wars-Rogue-One-new.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-759\" src=\"http:\/\/fuzzybug.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Star-Wars-Rogue-One-new.jpg\" alt=\"Star-Wars-Rogue-One-new\" width=\"580\" height=\"387\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fuzzybug.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Star-Wars-Rogue-One-new.jpg 580w, https:\/\/fuzzybug.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Star-Wars-Rogue-One-new-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe cast includes Felicity Jones (<em>The Theory of Everything<\/em>), Diego Luna (<em>Milk<\/em>), Ben Mendelsohn (<em>The Dark Knight Rises<\/em>), Donnie Yen (<em>Blade II<\/em>), Forest Whitaker (<em>The Butler<\/em>), Riz Ahmed (<em>Nightcrawler<\/em>) and the newly announced Mads Mikkelsen (<em>Hannibal<\/em>) and Alan Tudyk (<em>Serenity<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>As rumored, the movie takes place before<em> A New Hope,<\/em> and the plot follows a band of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the Death Star.<\/p>\n<p>Lucasfilm&#8217;s Kathleen Kennedy was not in attendance but said in a press release that <em>Rogue One<\/em> &#8220;will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the<em> Star Wars <\/em>universe.
