I mean, let me get a little more specific, STAR WARS: EPISODE IV \u2013 A NEW HOPE, or the original movie that started it all, is coming back to theatres in 2027. The reason? The movie\u2019s 50th<\/sup> Anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sounds like this news was announced on the Star Wars website. But where it was reportedly set to hit in April of 2027, looks like we\u2019re going to get the release on February 19, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But enough about all of that, I\u2019m sure you\u2019re wondering, \u201cIs this going to be the theatical cut, or \u2018Special Edition?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well friends, I\u2019m stroked to share that it\u2019s being reported that this print is a \u201cnewly restored\u201d version of the original 1977 release! Many speculating that it\u2019ll be the same version shown at the London Film Festival, where Kathleen Kennedy had commented that screening was not \u201cillegal\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I personally can\u2019t be more excited about this. I hope it has a strong turnout, and Lucasfilm will realize that there is a strong desire for a home video release of the original, pre-special edition trilogy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But one can only hope<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s definitely going to be a long wait until 2027!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
