After a number of detail drops from outlets regarding this anime, looks like we finally got a trailer from the recent Comic-Con@Home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check it out below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"BLADE RUNNER: BLACK LOTUS | Official Trailer | adult swim\" width=\"1100\" height=\"619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ahNgjVcq4sA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Experience the future with BLADE RUNNER: BLACK LOTUS \u2014 an Adult Swim and Crunchyroll original animated series inspired by the award-winning and critically lauded Blade Runner movie franchise, coming this fall. <\/p><p>This thrilling thirteen episode series is directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama and produced by Alcon Entertainment and animation studio Sola Digital Arts, with Shinichiro Watanabe serving as a creative producer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite some of the action in the trailer, I have to admit, I\u2019m a little underwhelmed by this trailer. First off, the look of it, I mean, the CG looks a little cheap. If you\u2019re announcing something as an \u201canime\u201d, I feel like there\u2019s an expectation of how it would look overall and crafting it down to the look of the IP you\u2019re telling a story for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And this misses that overall look. Honestly the animation looks like a video game cutscene from the \u201890s. My initial thought that this was a production simply \u201ccalled\u201d an anime, but not really. Like so many stateside productions simply calling an animation an anime. I mean there\u2019s A LOT of content in Netflix\u2019s catalog they call anime, but really aren\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/blade-runner-black-lotus-anime-trailer-was-just-reveal-1847353863?fbclid=IwAR2rikGhp1BEFM-S-J2MDLa561Bk0DmcFKcN7kTWrn1Hv9y9HOLULdlcsZc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">io9<\/a>, this series features episodes co-directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama. So, there it is, and find myself not knowing what to do with this first look for BLACK LOTUS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I mean, if you&#8217;re gonna give me a CG anime, would had hoped for something more along the lines of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2Wn6EHB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">STARSHIP TROOPERS: TRAITOR OF MARS<\/a>, which, ironically, does still look like a video game cutscene (but more reflective of anime), on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/81272340\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Netflix<\/a>, AND directed by Aramaki. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what can you do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now where can you find this 13-episode series? Sounds like it\u2019s set to premiere this Fall on Adult Swim (in English) and Crunchyroll (in Japanese).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what do you think about the trailer?
