There it ran for 3 seasons when it was cancelled. But to Lucifans&#8217; joy, Netflix came in and picked it up for a 4th season. After it concluded, news came that the show was renewed for a 5th season, and one that was announced that would be it&#8217;s last.<\/p>\n<p>But then came rumors that star Tom Ellis was in talks to negotiate a contract for a 6th season, WHAT?!! I know. But it seemed that all parties involved were hoping to continue the show for at least one more season. Well, looks like all is true, because this hit Twitter not too long ago:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">the devil made us do it. &#x1f608; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/lucifer?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#lucifer<\/a> will return for a sixth and final season. like, FINAL final. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/o27z6ToMaV\">pic.twitter.com\/o27z6ToMaV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lucifer (@LuciferNetflix) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LuciferNetflix\/status\/1275428399750791177?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 23, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Personally I loved the note, &#8220;&#8230;like, FINAL final.&#8221; Haha.<\/p>\n<p>But there you have kids, we&#8217;re getting one more season, and wouldn&#8217;t have it any other way! The upcoming season 5 will be split into 2 parts, the first of which will hit on August 21st.
