Are you going nuts with the cabin fever while being in lockdown? Well, you’re not alone, and if you follow Fuzzybug over social, you know there’s been posts once a day for something to watch. But if you didn’t know, or don’t want to wait for tomorrow, thought I’d post that list here. Check it out below!<\/p>\n

Now if you’re curious how this list was compiled? Nothing really scientific about it, haha. Just more organic, just thought about what came to mind for movies and TV I would want to watch, and these are what came to mind. So hopefully they’re enjoyable and have replay value for you while we’re locked in.<\/p>\n

Just a quick note, if any of these spark an interest and aren’t in your library, the titles are linked to Amazon. I’m sure they’re available on other platforms: iTunes, Vudu, Hulu, etc… I just wanted to make sure they’re all confirmed available on at least one platform for you.<\/p>\n

BUT the list! In no particular order, here we go…<\/p>\n

  1. ALIEN<\/a><\/strong>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \n<\/strong>Don’t think this one needs any introduction. But it’s definitely a movie I always seem to default to when I want something to watch when, you know, I want something to watch. Haha.<\/li>\n
  2. ALIENS<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nDefinitely another that shouldn’t need any introduction. And much like it’s predecessor, definitely a go-to for me. I mean, Ripley, Marines, aliens, and an exosuit! What more do you need? Haha.<\/li>\n
  3. SURF’S UP<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nIf memory serves, this one came out when CGI movies first started & studios were realizing it was actually a thing after the success Pixar was having. This one loosely adapts the true story of the North Shore, but with penguins, who can argue with that? Haha. I remembered when I first saw this movie, it just made me happy, as did every rewatch since. Hope you’ll dig it too!<\/li>\n
  4. HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nAnother one I’m sure we all know. Of the three entries in the trilogy, the first was by far my favorite. Much like SURF’S UP above, just smiled by the end of it. I remember watching this in the theatre, and leaving, the rest of the day was just great. You ever had that at the end of a movie? Where it just left you happy and basically set the course for the rest of the day? Well, this was definitely one of those for me.<\/li>\n
  5. SUMMER WARS<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nNow here’s one you may not know, anime fans probably will, but everyone else? SUMMER WARS is definitely one of my favorite anime movies in recent memory. Here’s a rundown of the movie itself:<\/p>\n

    A young math genius solves a complex equation and inadvertently puts a virtual world’s artificial intelligence in a position to destroy Earth<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
    Now that doesn’t the movie justice, with that, just a great tale of finding your place, family, and coming together to overcome incredible odds. And if you’re not a fan of sub-titles, the dub here is really great too!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  6. MACROSS PLUS<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nIt’s always so funny to me… whenever I’m asked what my favorite movie is, I can never answer. But my favorite anime? I have to say, the first thing that comes to mind is MACROSS PLUS. If you don’t know, MACROSS, is what you’ll probably know as ROBOTECH from the ’80s. Carl Macek essentially took 3 unrelated anime at the time, weaved & localized a this three season series that we all know as ROBOTECH. The first chapter, with Rick Hunter, SDF-1, and more was MACROSS.MACROSS PLUS has been a new chapter in that franchise, and it’s SO GOOD! Originally came out in the ’90s as a 4 episode OAV, and later compiled into a movie. In it, everything you love about MACROSS: jet fighters, robots, SDF-1, and idols too! But this time goes a little smaller, focusing on three main characters, and creates a more intimate & engaging story.<\/li>\n
  7. NEVER LET ME GO<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nDon’t remember when\/where I saw this one… might’ve been during my Blockbuster days… but you should be warned, this is a HEAVY movie… as in EMOTIONALLY HEAVY. So be prepared to have ALL THE FEELS if you check this one out! The movie essentially takes place in a world where an institution breeds children for organ harvest, an organ at a time, until they pass, and follows the journey of three kids in their life.Based on that, I’m sure you can draw comparisons to LOGAN RUN, or THE ISLAND… but this one starring \u00a0    Keira Knightley<\/a>,\u00a0Carey Mulligan<\/a>, and Andrew Garfield<\/a> I’m sure you can imagine how much more haunting and beautiful this take will be.But yea, SO MANY FEELS… you’ve been warned. Haha.<\/li>\n
  8. KOLYA<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nNow this one was definitely from my Blockbuster days, and if you enjoy foreign films, this is a good one. It’s been a number of years since I’ve seen it, but here’s the rundown:<\/p>\n

    Franta Louka is a concert cellist in Soviet-occupied Czechoslovakia, a confirmed bachelor and a lady’s man. Having lost his place in the state orchestra, he must make ends meet by playing at funerals and painting tombstones. But he has run up a large debt, and when his friend, the grave-digger Mr. Broz, suggests a scheme for making a lot of money by marrying a Russian woman so that she can get her Czech papers, he reluctantly agrees. She takes advantage of the situation to emigrate to West Germany, to her lover; and leaves her five-year-old son with his grandmother; when the grandmother dies, Kolya must come and live with his stepfather – Louka.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    While it’s been awhile since I’ve seen it, I do remember how wonderful a movie it was. So if you enjoy foreign films, I hope you’ll might check this one out.<\/li>\n

  9. SHALL WE DANCE<\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \n<\/strong>Continuing the foreign film kick from KOLYA, SHALL WE DANCE is SO GOOD! I think there’s a classic Hollywood pic by the same name, I’m not talking about that. And I’m DEFINITELY not talking about the CRAPTASTIC remake of THIS movie, starring Jennifer Lopez & Richard Gere… I’m talking about about the original Japanese movie to inspire you to grow, feel and take on the next stage of your life in beautiful fashion.<\/li>\n
  10. SNOWPIECER<\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \n<\/strong>Bong Joon Ho’s (PARASITE) sci-fi treasure! Starring Chris Evans, William Hurt, Tilda Swinton and more, this one takes place in a world where a climate change experiment goes wrong, the world freezes over, and the last remnants of humanity survive on a train that circles the globe. In this train, the population is classes from tail to engine, poorest to richest, and the course of the movie experiences a revolt to take over the train. It’s a crazy, violent ride that definitely is worth a watch if you haven’t seen it already!

  11. BIRDS OF PREY<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nNot gonna lie, the main reason I mention this one is because as I was thinking about this list, it was announced that BIRDS OF PREY would be hitting Digital early because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But even still, it made me think about how much fun I had watching this one in the theatres. For whatever reason, it didn’t to click with mass audiences. But it really is a fun picture. Especially if you love Margot<\/li>\n
  12. BLADE RUNNER 2049<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nOkay, I know when this one came out people were bitching, “IT’S SO LONG!”, “THE PACING IS SO SLOW!”… now while I will concede to some of the criticisms, it’s still SO GOOD! And honestly, if you want to talk length and pacing, the same could be said of the original too. So, yea, haha. But for me, if you’re a fan of the original, this is such a faithful sequel in so many regards. And even if you haven’t seen the original, but just love sci-fi, I honestly feel like you don’t need to have seen the original to enjoy this movie, and as a sci-fi movie, it’s so good. I mean, we really don’t get that many sci-fi movies these days, so I hope you’ll might check this one out.<\/li>\n
  13. KILL BILL VOL. 1<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nIn my opinion, Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece. I mean, you have him in peak form as a filmmaker (writing, directing, all of it) AND you throw in assassins, samurai swords, all wrapped up in a tale of revenge… no brainer. Just so good.<\/li>\n
  14. KILL BILL VOL. 2<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nThough I love Volume 1 more than I did this ending… can’t talk about one without the other. I mean, you have to finish the story right? Haha.<\/li>\n
  15. THE GIRL WHO LEAPED THROUGH TIME<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nFrom the same director that brought you SUMMER WARS (above), THE GIRL WHO LEAPED THROUGH TIME is such a great, surreal tale about accepting the things you can’t change & enjoying the life you have. Definitely a gem of a movie.<\/li>\n
  16. DIE HARD<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nNow how can you have a movie playlist without including the GREATEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER! Haha.\u00a0 No, but seriously, you all know this one, and it’s simply a perfect action movie. What better time to give it a watch than now?<\/li>\n
  17. TENCHI THE MOVIE: TENCHI MUYO IN LOVE<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nOne of the first anime movies I saw since I really got into anime WAY back in the day… and it still stands up, and still one of my favorites. As I’m sure you’ve guessed, part of the TENCHI MUYO franchise, and back in the day, was the BIG anime. Probably on the same level as MY HERO ACADEMIA is today. My memory of the movie is a little foggy… but I do remember it leaving an impact. I mean, I still have it on VHS, haha. But if you love anime, looking for something new, might give this one a try.<\/li>\n
  18. SERENITY<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nOH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN! More than 10 years later, are you still missing Joss Whedon’s FIREFLY as much as I am? Well definitely had to include the valiant effort to bring it to the big screen, and hopefully launch a movie franchise. Sadly we didn’t get the latter. But at least the movie served as a conclusion of sorts to a lot of open ends from FIREFLY being cancelled. Now, if you’re a fan of sci-fi, but haven’t seen FIREFLY, SERENITY definitely stands on it’s own. Obviously you get a little more if you’ve seen the TV show, but just saying, you’ll be good on your own.<\/li>\n
  19. MOULIN ROUGE<\/strong><\/a>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>
    \nI have to say, Baz Luhrman’s best before we got AUSTRALIA… still not sure what was going on there. But MOULIN ROUGE was such a beautiful movie filled with the aesthetic you’d expect from the director, filled with pop-culture musical numbers… definitely so many feels in here. Of course, if you’re not a fan of musicals… you probably won’t dig this. But I still have to recommend it because I love it so much! Haha.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Well, that’s it kids. Hope this list helps with the cabin fever! For you cord cutters, there’s TV recs too, but they’re over on social. But either way, happy watching kids!<\/p>\n
