The Spider-Man franchise has definitely been hit-miss since Sony Pictures got the license. Thankfully SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING was delightful\u2026 but even still, wasn\u2019t sure what to make of INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE when trailers first broke. Don\u2019t get me wrong, the trailers looked amazing, but with the franchise\u2019s fractured history under Sony, definitely was a little hesitant to get my hopes up.<\/p>\n
But by now you\u2019ve probably heard all the bites that INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE is GLORIOUS, and the best Spider-Man movie EVER! Well, I don\u2019t know about the BEST movie, but INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE is pretty flippin\u2019 GLORIOUS!<\/p>\n
The premise is pretty simple, after a little dimensional mishap, all the spider-verses collided into one. From there it\u2019s a mad rush to set things right.<\/p>\n
Personally I loved this movie. Though outside of the Peter Parker Spider-Man, I\u2019m not too familiar with the rest of the comic source of the Spider Peoples you see in the movie. But that aside, much like SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING, they didn\u2019t spend too much time on exposition for origin\u2019s as, specifically with Spider-Man, we all know it. And as for the rest of the team, they give us just enough to care, but don\u2019t give too much time to it where we get bored.<\/p>\n
The movie itself was immensely fun, funny, and helluva a great time. And on top of all that, the movie had such a great and unique look to it. Invoking hints to old school halftone printing, even a shout out to the Comics Code Authority, such a wonderful retro shout out in a digital age.<\/p>\n
The only downside I saw with the art design though. As they pushed it, at times it felt like I was watching a 3D movie, just without the glasses. It wasn\u2019t constant. It was only here and there. But it was definitely a little disorienting to be sure.<\/p>\n
But that aside, like I said, the movie was crazy fun. And what I loved most was that you don\u2019t need to be versed in the Spider-Man world to enjoy it. Just spreads a great message that anyone can be a hero.<\/p>\n
