I have to admit, I’ve never been too familiar with the WITCHER series, but I do remember the FALLOUT actor tweeting he would love to play Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s adaptation.<\/p>\n

Looks like the actor got his wish as he’s been cast in the title role. <\/p>\n

Not being too familiar with THE WITCHER, I always thought it was only a video game. But unbeknownst all it’s forms come from a series of 8 novels and short story collections written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. THE WITCHER centers on Geralt, part of a group of monster hunters known as “witchers” who develop supernatural abilities to battle the monsters.<\/p>\n

And honestly, coming in cold to this IP, that summary alone is enough to get me hooked. And with Henry Cavill attached, I am really looking forward to how this takes shape.<\/p>\n

THE WITCHER has been given an 8-episode straight to series order, and is expected to hit Netflix sometime in 2019.<\/p>\n
