So I’m sure you’ve heard the rumors by now the Lucasfilms has decided to put any future STAR WARS spin-off movies on-hold. Supposedly due to the lackluster box-office for SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY.<\/p>\n

Now I can’t stress enough that this is currently only a rumor, with sources citing the usual generic, “…with knowledge of the situation…”.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n But if the rumors are true? And SOLO is the reason? Well, don’t make shit movies.<\/p>\n Don’t get me wrong, SOLO was fun, but overall I was pretty bored. I wasn’t invested or engaged with the story or any of the characters. There were no surprises in the movie, everything I expected to see, I saw. Nothing new.<\/p>\n And as far as what I expected to see? It was just too much for one movie. Honestly, I would offer there was probably plot lines in SOLO that could’ve been spun into a trilogy, easy. And maybe that way, you could’ve given more invested into the characters to engage me more in the movie.<\/p>\n (I’d go into more detail, but holding back in case someone hasn’t seen it.)<\/p>\n But that’s just me.<\/p>\n That said, if the rumor is true, I hope Lucasfilm isn’t using SOLO as a benchmark. I mean ROGUE ONE went through a similar production history, and I personally loved that movie! My only worry here that if it is true, it’ll mean I’ll have to wait wait longer than anticipated for the KENOBI and BOBA-FETT movies.<\/p>\n …sigh.<\/p>\n Currently there’s no word from Lucasfilm if this is true or not.
