So last month, the internet went crazy with the news that Quentin Tarantino expressed interest in directing a STAR TREK. Even more so that it sounds like Paramount is on board, with J.J. Abrams heading up the writer’s room.<\/p>\n
But it gets even better Boys and Girls, cause sounds like a TNG Alum would love to come back if this happens!<\/p>\n

Supposedly our beloved captain, Sir Patrick Stewart, would love to come back to the Enterprise if Tarantino was involved. At the Dubai Film Festival, the fan-favorite actor was quoted…<\/p>\n
…one of my dreams is to work with Tarantino. I admire his work so much, and to be in a Tarantino film would give me so much satisfaction. So, if he is going to direct something to do with\u00a0Star Trek<\/em>\u00a0and there was the possibility of dear old Jean-Luc showing up again and doing that for Mr. Tarantino, I would embrace it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Which, honestly, could work. When talking with the Nerdist Podcast, the director stated…<\/p>\n
“Yesterday’s Enterprise,” where an Enterprise ship from the past breaks through a time rift and alters the course of history. I actually think that is not only one of the great space stories, but the way it dealt with the mythology of the whole thing \u2014 that actually could bare a two hour treatment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Initially when I read that, I immediately thought that, isn’t that kind of what they did to reboot the franchise? I mean, instead of the Enterprise, it was a Romulan ship. But essentially the plot would be the same? But let’s be honest, if there’s anything STAR TREK does well, it’s time travel. Don’t believe me? Think about your favorite series, be it TOS, TNG, DS9, whatever. Then think about your favorite episode. I bet you it’s most likely a time travel episode. Haha. So who cares if they use that again?<\/p>\n
Regardless, I did remember a report that J.J. Abrams had said in the next STAR TREK movie, James Kirk’s dad, George Kirk (played by Chris Hemsworth), would return. And a\u00a0Yesterday’s Enterprise\u00a0<\/em>would make a great MacGuffin for that.<\/p>\n
But if they swapped out Chris for Sir Pat? I would most certainly not be adverse to that!<\/p>\n
As for the current state of the Tarantino STAR TREK? That remains to be seen. But as soon as I hear of something, I will definitely let you know.<\/p>\n
