So you might’ve heard that NETFLIX is $20 billion in debt… well, though, not technically. I mean, they got financing for $20B that if they don’t make GREAT strides in revenue, then yes, they will probably be $20 billion in debt. BUT what’s NETFLIX’s plan in the whole “making great strides” department?<\/p>\n
Well, essentially investing more in producing original content. Not to be confused with buying movies and such and branding them as “original”, but more\u00a0creating\u00a0<\/em>original content like STRANGER THINGS was born from the NETFLIX house. <\/p>\n Well, some news broke that seems to indicate that they’re making good on that. NETFLIX has acquired MILLARWORLD.<\/p>\n Now those of you not familiar with MILLARWORLD it’s basically the publishing company from comic creator Mark Millar. AND if you’re not familiar with Millar? Well, \u00a0he’s been a writer of a copious amount of Marvel titles. He’s also the creator of a few comics that’s been adapted into movies that you might be familiar with. Comics like KICK-ASS, and KINGSMEN: THE SECRET SERVICE to name a few.<\/p>\n I couldn’t be more excited for this. Mainly because there are so many titles in the MILLARWORLD stable I would love to see adapted, titles like SUPERIOR<\/strong><\/a> (think SHAZAM, but more awesome. I mean, come on, there’s a space monkey!), and NEMESIS<\/strong><\/a> (one of the best anti-heroes I’ve read in recent years). To think about casting of what those might end up to be? Well, safe to say, I’m geeking out pretty hard over here.<\/p>\n No word yet as far as next steps.
