Honestly I knew nothing about this movie going in. Well, that\u2019s not entirely true, I knew next to <\/em>nothing. All I had was a random bit I happened across where you see Anne Hathaway motioning to Jason Sudeikis in the movie to show she\u2019s controlling the monster.<\/p>\n

When I saw that, don\u2019t know what it was that sparked, but I was all, \u201cI don\u2019t know what you are, but I must WATCH YOU!\u201d<\/p>\n

And I am so glad I did. Because the movie is INCREDIBLE!<\/p>\n

But by happenstance, if you still have no idea what I\u2019m talking about when I\u2019m talking about the movie COLOSSAL, here\u2019s a quick rundown:<\/p>\n

Gloria (Anne Hathaway) drinks too hard and parties too much. Her boyfriend has enough of it and throws her out. Gloria returns to her hometown, dreaming of making a new start, but instead revives her childhood friendship with Oscar (Jason Sudeikis), who runs a bar. After drinking a night away with Oscar and his friends, she wakes up to discover a gigantic monster rampaging through Seoul and realizes that somehow the monster is connected to her.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Basically this movie is a kick-ass kaiju movie, by the way of the old GODZILLA flicks. But at the same time it has all the character, emotion and wit you\u2019d find in an indie pic that you really don\u2019t see as much in cinema anymore.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a really weird combination. But it works SO WELL! And it definitely makes for a unique movie. If you haven\u2019t seen this, I really can\u2019t recommend it enough.
