So, Netflix has cancelled THE IMPERFECTS after season 1. Not gonna lie, not a big YA fan. I mean, I’m in my 40’s. Not gonna lie, definitely enjoyed YA properties, but really the target market, haha. All that aside, I really enjoyed the first season, and definitely bummed there won’t be another.
I don’t know if THE IMPERFECTS is YA? But age was never really one of my strong suits, and you know, the whole 40’s thing doesn’t help, but definitely felt like a YA property… though getting off track here. But if you’re not familiar with the show, it hit Netflix in September and focuses on a trio of teens that underwent gene therapy, but experiences side effects. Those side effects gave them powers that end up making them a target of an evil cabal.
To get through it, they band together to track down the scientist that did this to them to turn them human again.
I mean, sure the season looked a little dated and Alex Sarkov’s (played by Rhys Nicholson) voice can get a little screechy at times, but the show was super fun, and the characters were super engaging. At the end, definitely was left open for another season, and after the ride the characters went on, I hate that I won’t get to know where it goes.
THE IMPERFECTS is currently streaming on Netflix.
