TIMELESS fans, you’ve done it again! I mean, the show is still being cancelled. But you’re going to get a conclusion to that gut-wrenching cliffhanger from season 2.
Executive producers Shawn Ryan, and Eric Kripke had this to say,
…they can expect the Timeless they know and love. A focus on the unsung and underrepresented people of history. And most importantly, one final emotional story for the Time Team.
They continued with,
While we wish we could’ve made another dozen seasons of Timeless, this is the next best thing.
We’re thrilled to take the Lifeboat out for one last spin and bring closure to our story. The studio, network, cast and crew are all doing this for one reason only: the fans. Because they deserve it. Because the fans made this happen and we thank them for their passion, support and helicopters. So? You guys want to get Rufus back or what?
The TIMELESS team even made the announcement over their Twitter account…

Aside from really not knowing how to feel about the term, “Clockblockers”, I personally couldn’t be more excited for this. Haha. I was a little late to the game when it came to TIMELESS. The initial marketing for season 1 really didn’t grab me to tune in. But when I finally did? Man, I was hooked! Not only with the quality of the show, but the show’s history of being the “little show that could”, how could I not love this show?
While it’s cancellation is still happening, I’m not glad that NBC greenlit a finale. And honestly, I wish more networks would do this. I think fans of shows can appreciate that a show is not profitable for them, but realizing there’s a fanbase, giving them a finale to close things out just builds some strong loyalty with your viewership. So well done NBC, well done. Not only for this finale, but for also picking up BROOKLYN NINE-NINE. You’ve been making moves that’s making this fanboy a happy camper!
NBC and Sony Pictures Television will air the TIMELESS finale sometime this holiday season.
