I’ve definitely been a huge fan of HARRY POTTER, starting with the books, and into the movies. Though I haven’t been able to get into this kind of “expanded universe” initiative that Warner Brothers seems to be doing with the POTTER franchise.
Truth be told, I just couldn’t finish FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM… honestly, I don’t even think I made it through the first third of the movie before losing interest.
If you saw the movie, it was the whole “picked up the wrong suitcase” gag at the movie’s jump. It was all downhill for me from there.
BUT the San Diego Comic-Con took place last week, and in the Warner Brothers’ panel, they debut a new trailer for FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD… and I might have to give the first movie another try.
Check out the trailer below.
At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD opens on November 16th.
