So you might’ve heard that NETFLIX is $20 billion in debt… well, though, not technically. I mean, they got financing for $20B that if they don’t make GREAT strides in revenue, then yes, they will probably be $20 billion in debt. BUT what’s NETFLIX’s plan in the whole “making great strides” department?

Well, essentially investing more in producing original content. Not to be confused with buying movies and such and branding them as “original”, but more creating original content like STRANGER THINGS was born from the NETFLIX house.

Well, some news broke that seems to indicate that they’re making good on that. NETFLIX has acquired MILLARWORLD.

Now those of you not familiar with MILLARWORLD it’s basically the publishing company from comic creator Mark Millar. AND if you’re not familiar with Millar? Well,  he’s been a writer of a copious amount of Marvel titles. He’s also the creator of a few comics that’s been adapted into movies that you might be familiar with. Comics like KICK-ASS, and KINGSMEN: THE SECRET SERVICE to name a few.

I couldn’t be more excited for this. Mainly because there are so many titles in the MILLARWORLD stable I would love to see adapted, titles like SUPERIOR (think SHAZAM, but more awesome. I mean, come on, there’s a space monkey!), and NEMESIS (one of the best anti-heroes I’ve read in recent years). To think about casting of what those might end up to be? Well, safe to say, I’m geeking out pretty hard over here.

No word yet as far as next steps. But as soon as I know something, I will definitely let you know.
